REQUIEM AETERNAM: 'Freewill' Video Released

"Freewill", the new video from melodic black metallers REQUIEM AETERNAM — originally from Uruguay but most recently based in Tampa Bay, Florida — can be viewed below. The clip includes footage shot during the band's last show in Uruguay, plus shots during the mastering sessions for the group's new album, "Destiny-Man", at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida.

"Destiny-Man" will be released in September to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the band. The CD is set to feature "ten tracks — 50 minutes of anguish," according to the band.

The ten tracks on "Destiny-Man" are inspired — not based — on ten classical composers, including Takemitsu, Beethoven, Mozart, Piazzolla, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Chopin, Paganini and Villa-Lobos.

Commented guitarist/vocalist Jose Romero Sum: "This [is] our most ambitious work to date. I have written more music for this recording than for both former albums put together. This is] our uppermost attempt to consolidate a new style within metal music: philosophical metal."

REQUIEM AETERNAM's last album, "Philosopher", was released in North America in December 2004 via ICorp. "Philosopher" was recorded at Big Blue Meenie studios and features a guest appearance by drummer Alex Hernández (IMMOLATION).
